Happy World Vegan Day! Like last year, we’ve rounded up 15 more vegan dishes in Las Vegas that every non-vegan will love. Get your list started and see where you’re taking your favorite omni today to show them vegan food isn’t boring … it’s amazing.
The 15 dishes we selected this year highlight the diverse vegan options in Las Vegas being served at vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants from Summerlin to The Strip … and everywhere in between.
15 vegan dishes in Las Vegas every non-vegan should try at least once.
Cauliflower shawarma from POTs
Forget meat with the POTs crispy cauliflower shawarma. You can’t go wrong with anything you order from the all-vegan Egyptian street food restaurant, but oh mannnn that cauliflower shawarma is fantastic. Tossed in the perfect shawarma seasoning with spices like cumin, coriander, paprika and turmeric, there’s also cinnamon, cloves and more to make this shawarma amazing. It comes stuffed with salata baladi and arugula in fresh-baked pita with a creamy dressing drizzled on top.
Cheese-stuffed garlic buns from Naked City Pizza
We were beyond stoked when Naked City Pizza launched their vegan options at the end of 2018. While they haven’t rolled out to every Naked City in town, it’s worth the delivery fee on Postmates to nosh on their vegan garlic buns. This soft, pillowy buns come filled with Follow Your Heart vegan cheese and a side of their marinara sauce for dipping. While the buns are our favorite of all the garlic buns/knots in town, the four vegan pizzas Naked City Pizza serves are also up there as some of the best in Las Vegas.
Chicky Chicky Bang Bang from VegeNation
Last year we highlighted the amazing chicken sandwich from Downtown’s Flippin’ Good. This year, our go-to chicken sandwich is the Chicky Chicky Bang Bang from VegeNation. This Nashville-style (spicy!) crispy Gardien patty comes sandwiched with slaw, ranch and butter pickles and a side of the restaurant’s revamped potato wedges.
Crispy cauliflower from CATCH Las Vegas
PHOTO: CATCH LAS VEGAS
The beautiful CATCH Las Vegas offers quite a nice selection of vegan options. We dig all of it (especially the hearts of palm crabcake and the pistachio cheesecake), but what every single guest to the restaurant must try is the crispy cauliflower. As one of our friends put it, she’d “sell her soul” for the dish and it’s easy to see why. The veganized version of the crispy shrimp catapulted to menu status thanks to the love it got in the LA outpost. Tossed in a perfect spicy aioli, these morsels are also gluten-free. And super addictive.
Crispy Cowboy Hot Dog from Phyto’s Vegan Eats
PETA bestowed the honor of Best Hot Dog upon Phyto’s to its Crispy Cowboy version features a Field Roast Frankfurter piled high with fresh and crispy onions, Lightlife Fakin’ Bacon bits and tangy BBQ sauce. The pop-up has a few dogs they regularly feature, but they also toss in some specials, including a Frito Pie. You can also nab the Crispy Cowboy and other dogs over at Cafe No Fur.
Eggplant Schnitzel from Best Friend
The fun and funky Best Friend at Park MGM has a few vegan options, but the one we are obsessed with is the eggplant schnitzel. The breaded eggplant comes served on a bed of rich dijon sauce and topped with greens.
Ice cream from Paradise City Creamery
Until they open up their own ice cream shop, the only times you can get Paradise City Creamery is when they pop-up. Stalk this boutique mobile ice cream cart until you find them, seriously. The edgy vegan ice cream company has flavors like the Yes Mistress, a charcoal bourbon cherry creation with activated charcoal and bourbon-roasted cherries topped with their dipped Disco Cherries. You get the point. Oh, and their waffle cones are gluten-free.
Mac Attack from The Modern Vegan
PHOTO: THE MODERN VEGAN
Served as a weekly pop-up every Thursday, The Modern Vegan’s Mac Attack recreated the McDonald’s version with all-vegan ingredients. This double burger/three bun combo shows that everything you can eat, we can eat vegan. This spot thrives on their veganized versions of popular eats and offers more than 100 items. We also picked our favorites at The Modern Vegan to help you even more.
Monster Fried Egg Burger from Cafe No Fur
The Monster Fried Egg Burger from Cafe No Fur is what you wrap your Las Vegas night with, or start your day with. The greasy diner-esque creation features a burger patty topped with a sausage patty topped with strips of bacon topped with hashbrowns topped with cheese topped with a fried egg. They also throw in some tots for good measure … just in case you still want more.
Orange Chicken from Chef Kenny’s Asian Vegan Restaurant
Chef Kenny’s Asian Vegan Restaurant is definitely one of the vegan darlings in Las Vegas — and for good reason. Chef Kenny has managed to veganize all of the Chinese staples like orange chicken, spicy beef and more, including sushi. No stop to Chef Kenny’s is complete without the orange chicken. Your omni friends will agree.
Pastry from The Coffee Class
Our newest vegan-friendly coffee shop, The Coffee Class, won us over with their rotating vegan pastry selection that includes savory pastries, fruit tarts and scones. Wash it down with a Chai Nitro Brew or a rose latte for something extra.
Pepperoni Pizza from Veganos Kitchen
Veganos Kitchen is perhaps the most under-rated vegan restaurant in Las Vegas. Tucked into North Las Vegas, this restaurant offers not only amazing Mexican meals (try the pozole, it’s the best in town!), but also comfort food like both the Impossible and Beyond Burgers, and — surprisingly — some of the best vegan pizza we’ve had. Using VioLife cheese, the pizzas at Veganos Kitchen are reminiscent of that greasy pizza you can get on the beach and we absolutely can’t get enough of it.
Sampler Platter from Violette’s Vegan
Make it easy and order the Sampler Platter from Violette’s Vegan. The organic restaurant combines some of its top-selling appetizers on one massive plate so you can try their loaded potatoes, cauliflower bites, Sassy Wings and more,
Sliders from Greene Street Kitchen
The street art-filled vegan-friendly Greene Street Kitchen at The Palms has plenty of vegan options. Wow your omni friends with an order of their Beyond sliders that come with melted vegan cheese and vegan Thousand Island on toasted sesame seed buns. And, while you’re at it, also order the fresh hearts of palm salad with jalapeño.
Wings from Wing King
These bad boys may be pricey, but they’re worth every penny. The vegan wings at Wing King are the best vegan wings in town. With heaps of sauces to toss ’em in (we dig the spicy garlic) and ranch you’ll want to drink, Wing King is the perfect place for an omni to get their wing fix … meat-free.
