What a week it’s been! It started last Saturday with the news that a new vegan burger and brunch spot was going to take the place of Vege-Way North and ended with a Chef from a local seafood joint moving over to the vegan side and announcing a new vegan quick-service restaurant.
But, there was even more going on in between.
This week also brought the announcement that Chef Kenny Chye, the former face and chef of Veggie House and major Las Vegas vegan player thanks to his opening of the city’s first vegan fast food/drive-thru is opening a vegan Asian restaurant.
There’s even more stuff going on behind-the-scenes. We met with a restaurant this week and they are going to launch a vegan menu in the coming months (stay tuned, it will be a party!), and there are two other vegan restaurants planning to open in the next month or so.
Numu Returns!
We also have our party April 26 at Good Pie featuring a one-night-only return of New York’s hottest vegan cheese, NUMU. Take a look at what the cheese looks like (and if you haven’t tasted it yet, OMG it is legit!).
Get your tickets today to the Vegan Spring Fling Pizza Party at Good Pie on April 26. Tickets are $40 per person and the party features a buffet of meatballs and garlic nots, plus three different kinds of gourmet pizza being passed around and a live performance from the city’s up-and-coming band, Naked Elephant, who recently signed with Virgin EMI Records.
We’ll leave you with a breakdown of the new vegan restaurants opening in the next month:
Blinders Burger & Brunch
An all-vegan restaurant in Northwest Las Vegas serving burgers — including the Impossible Burger — and featuring meats from The Herbivorous Butcher and the city’s own No Butcher. They’ll also have a booze-y brunch on weekends.
Chef Kenny’s Vegan Asian Restaurant
Chef Kenny Chye is brining vegan pho, ramen, sushi and our favorite vegan Chinese eats under one roof . This Chinatown spot will also serve booze and possibly be open late.
Amber’s Smoked Vegan
The vegan community has been asking for vegan soul food in Las Vegas, and Chef Robert Ferrera and business partner Amber Dunn answered with Amber’s Smoked Vegan. A quick-service restaurant on W. Charleston, they’ll have familiar food from Chef’s former digs, plus lots of new options!
More!
As for the other vegan restaurants, stay tuned! We’ll have details on those, plus the next restaurant to offer up an all-vegan menu, coming soon!
