Chef Brian Howard has created an off-Strip dining destination with Sparrow + Wolf. This illustrious chef with nearly two decades in the kitchen has garnered recognition for his fare from the likes of USA Today, LA Times and more. He even came with us to the first ever Vegas Vegan James Beard Dinner in New York City in 2019, along with four other talented chefs, to display his plant-based talent. The American restaurant which taps into Old World cooking with a modern twist, features a seasonal menu and taps into local providers like Urban Seed.
Now, let’s get to the vegan eats. For the longest time, we drove by Sparrow + Wolf and wanted to check it out, but didn’t think they had anything vegan. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Not only does the Las Vegas restaurant have vegan options, they are all whole plant foods. But, most important, the dishes Howard and his team serve are exquisite.
The seasonal menu features dishes like a tangy beet and apple tartare made with cardamom and a poppy dressing, plus goodness from fruits like lychee.
They also feature a divine wood-roasted Maitake mushroom dish with warm Turkish hummus …
a spicy Asian pear barbecue, and brussel sprouts in a spicy jungle curry.
If you’re lucky, Sparrow + Wolf can even create a vegan dessert like the one we had — a grilled pineapple with Thai Chili mango sorbet.
You can order these items a la carte, or you can go big and order up the decadent six-course vegan tasting menu for $75.
We can’t believe we snoozed on this place … it’s one of our new favorite spots for flavorful eats — definitely a place to bring visitors looking to experience some incredible vegan options.
