What happens when you take a vegan business owner who wants to offer better, cruelty-free and vegan options to replace traditional waxing hair removal? You get Humble Bee Beauty Studio, founded by Dulcinea de Roany.
de Roany relocated to Las Vegas from San Francisco in 2013 and was surprised to see the only options in town for hair removal were hard and soft wax, so she set out to change the scene.
With a goal of being mindful of what she puts on her — and her customers skin — she opened the first Humble Bee in January 2014.
“I knew I could create a business that had ingredients that stood for what I believed in — a welcoming, peaceful and approachable environment — along with the best hair removal methods possible,” she says.
Today, the studio has three locations in town and dozen employees (aka “worker bees”).
Humble Bee offers sugar hair removal (sugaring) made with sugar, lemon and water boiled down to a paste, that is organic, vegan and gluten-free. The studios also offer vegan, organic custom spray tanning (which is best after you sugar and take away the dead skin), and facials in a spa-like atmosphere.
