Hidden in the back of the Radha Govinda Temple is Govinda’s Restaurant, a vegan restaurant in Las Vegas. Opening its doors in early 2019, Govinda’s is a Las Vegas vegan buffet with daily specials.
Unlike other Hare Krishna movement temples around the country, this is the first to be fully vegan. Why? The sister temples in the movement raise and nurture their own cows that provide dairy for their temple. Without the adequate land to properly take care of the animals, Govinda’s Restaurant chose to go fully vegan instead of using store bought dairy products from cows that were not honored or treated fairly.
With each dish freshly “cooked with love and devotion,” you’ll leave feeling like you had a home-cooked, hearty meal.
While the menu rotates daily, customer favorites like the Dhal Soup and Basmati Rice are staples on the menu. Expect a variety of healthy dishes including mixed salad, rice, curries, savory pastries, and something sweet.
Govinda’s buffet is a suggested donation of $9.95 with additional items such as drinks, a daily special, and slices of vegan cake at a la carte prices. For a list of current menu items, make sure to check Govinda’s Facebook page before stopping by.
We devoured some delicious eats while we were there!
This yummy plate is packed with Chickpea Curry with brown rice, spinach and zucchini curry, basmati rice, and Indian savory snacks stuffed with tofu and veggies.
We tried both the savory Dhal Soup and the creamy Vegetable Soup (pictured above).
Make sure to grab a few sweet treats before you leave! Govinda’s Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.
