Ta’s Caribbean Spice

  • August 19, 2020
  • Caribbean, Delivery Business, Ghost Kitchen, Las Vegas, Vegan Kitchen

Las Vegas, how about some killer Jamaican patties, veganized! Ta’s Caribbean Spice is a vegan meal delivery service in Las Vegas offering Caribbean-inspired meals.

Originally focused on spices, hot sauces, and marinades, this Black family-owned business was created to continue their grandfather, Ta’s legacy of love and joy in the kitchen.

Aude Desir, who trained at the Culinary Institute in New York, his wife Jodi, and their twin sons, Jovan and Kadir, share their roots from Barbados, Jamaica, and Haiti through food.

Las Vegas Vegan-Friendly Meal Delivery: Ta’s Caribbean Spice

Ta’s Caribbean Spice recently revamped its menu to only offer vegan options, the family committing themselves to creating healthier alternatives to Caribbean and American favorites. The vegan menu came about after searching for natural remedies to help a relative that had fallen ill.

What to order at Ta’s Caribbean Spice

If you are new to Jamaican patties, they are a classic, on-the-go Jamaican pastry pocket made of curry-flavored dough with various fillings.

The pastry is flaky, rich in flavor, and perfectly fits in your hand.

Try traditional flavors like jerk vegan chicken, curried vegan chicken, vegan beef, curry lentil, and curry potato with spinach and peas. Ta’s spice blends round out the flavor perfectly.

We cannot get enough of these spicy, curried pockets of happiness. But, you’re covered if you’re not feeling curry.

Stuff the sun-dried tomato patty with your choice of eats. Options include vegan Italian sausage, sun-dried tomato, artichoke, and vegan mozzarella or vegan chorizo.

In addition, you can request kale dough.

Tasty traditional Caribbean sides like “rice and peas” and cabbage slaw with a slight kick accompany the patties.

Another option is to sink your teeth into the house-made veggie burger with sweet plantains.

Or, order the fried vegan chicken sandwich.

Topped with a spicy chipotle mayo, the sandwiches are hard to put down after the first bite.

What’s more, Ta’s has been experimenting with some not-so-classic Caribbean vegan recipes in their free time.

We gobbled up their spinach and artichoke puff pastry. The delicate pastries come filled with a melted vegan cheese medley, spinach, and artichoke.

They also have other pop-up specials. For example, they’ve offered pizza, Mexican lasagna, and grilled mac and cheese.

Desserts at Ta’s Caribbean Spice

They’ve also been trying their hand at desserts.

Choose from gooey, chocolate chip cookies with vegan chocolate chunks or a luscious piece of carrot cake.

For chocolate lovers, Ta’s has a rich chocolate brownie with chocolate ganache and mint icing.

Even better, we’re told more cookies, cakes — and even croissants — are in the works!

Products for purchase from Ta’s Caribbean Spice

Love what you’re eating? You’re in luck!

Their spices, hot sauces, and marinades are available for purchase at Las Vegas’ Veg-In-Out Market.

Also, Ta’s original Jamaican curry spice is sold on Amazon.

Ta’s Caribbean Spice accepts orders through Facebook, Instagram, or by phone, 702-875-5094. Their website is in the works to order online.

Kathryn Hartwig is a senior writer for Vegans, Baby. She decided to go vegan nearly a decade ago while searching for the perfect diet to compliment her role as a professional dancer. After experimenting with multitudes of fads, she Kat found a lifestyle that turned out to be more than a diet. She settled in Vegas with her husband/photographer Daniel, and puppy, Layla, after traveling the world on cruise ships and living in New York City. The family recently welcomed the birth of their first child, a true vegan baby.
