Las Vegas’ Arts District just nabbed its first vegan restaurant. Tacotarian (which celebrates its one-year anniversary of their southwest location Aug. 22 and is a vegan restaurant in Las Vegas) announced today its plans to open a second location in the burgeoning Downtown Arts District.

Coming on the heels of the area’s upgrades, Tacotarian is one of a few new dining establishments to be setting up shop in the area (up next: Vince Rotolo’s Good Pie making moves). The hip fast-casual spot whose goal is to make vegan food mainstream is set to open late fall 2019 in the heart of the Arts District (1130 S. Casino Center Blvd.).
“We fell in love with the space and the vibe of this location right away,” says Kristen Corral, one of the four managing partners (Corral and husband, Carlos join Regina and Dan Simmons in the business). “It has so much potential for so many things to come. We feel like our food will be more accessible to tourists as well, as we are going to be walking distance from The Strip. As the Arts District continues to grow, more and more people will be coming down to check out all the amazing restaurants, breweries and shops Main Street has to offer. For us, it’s all very exciting that so many new people will be trying more vegan food.”

According to Corral, the new location aims to create a more vintage Mexican market vibe and is going to feature locally handcrafted wooden tables and tiles from Mexico created specifically for Tacotarian. Open daily, the new vegan seats 60 inside, will have a full bar, a patio that holds 20 (and also private events) and exclusive menu items.
“We’re so excited to be part of the community vibe that is so prevalent in the Arts District,” says Regina Simmons. “We can’t wait to work with the other businesses and restaurants to make Downtown Arts District the place to be for locals and tourists.”

Like the original location, expect the “largest selection of vegan tacos in the universe” plus heaps of other vegan Mexican eats like Frito Pie, Takis Elote, Asada Fries, brunch items including chicken and waffle sandwiches topped with caramelized banana, JUST egg omelettes and more.
