If you don’t feel like trekking Downtown to get your vegan dogs at Cheffini’s, and happen to live on the east side of town, Steamie Weenie is your spot.
The Field Roast vegan frankfurter can come topped with plenty of options, including the Push Cart (onions in a tomato sauce with sauerkraut and spicy house mustard) and the Windy City (tomato, dill pickle, diced onions, sport peppers, neon relish, celery salt and yellow mustard).
We love how accommodating Steamie Weenie is, too. For example, they’re happy to sub or take out some of their other toppings to make your delicious dog cruelty-free. Crowd favorites include the Nor’Wester topped with griddled onions, scallions, fresh jalapeño peppers and sriracha (minus the cream cheese) or the Mt. Fuji covered in teriyaki grilled onions, toasted nori, carrots and scallions (without the wasabi mayo).
Add on some crinkle cut fries to round out your meal. It’s important to note, the tater tots and onion rings can be fried in the french fry frier upon request, so be sure to ask if that’s what you’re craving.
Open: Monday – Friday, 10:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.; Saturday – Sunday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
