Located next to the Holland Tunnel and in the previous spot of Souk and Sandwich is Jerrell’s Betr Burgr. This new Soho vegan restaurant is open late and serving some of the best vegan burgers we’ve ever had.

Opened late summer 2021, Jerrell’s Betr Brgr is founded by Jerrell Obee. Operating out of a tiny kitchen with a walk-up window, customers can enjoy classic burgers, shakes and waffle fries, veganized. There’s plenty of outdoor seating to nosh while it’s hot, or take your vegan burger to-go.
Obee, who chose the location to replicate the nostalgic, late-night, quick-service take-out vibe for the vegan community, didn’t have any professional culinary experience before slinging burgers. But, you’d never know.
Here, the burgers are juicy, the fries perfectly crispy and the shakes decadent. Add this to the restaurants to check it that are vegan or have vegan options in New York City.
Jerrell’s Betr Brgr Menu
The menu at the all-vegan Jerrell’s isn’t big, but it doesn’t need to be. This is a burger joint, and that’s what they do best. There are three burgers to choose from, all featuring Impossible patties.
First, there is the Lil’ Betr. This single-patty burger comes topped with vegan cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, pickles and Jerrell’s Special Sauce.
Next is the O.G. Betr, which is the Lil’ Betr with an extra patty.
Finally, Jerrell’s serves the Supr Betr. This bad boy is a fully loaded O.G. Betr, but with jalapeños, chili and vegan bacon added on.
The menu, which was developed by Chef Lovelace of All Season Hospitality Group, also features crispy waffle fries, hearty vegan chili and a variety of dipping sauces.
What could possibly make this meal any better? Adding an oat-milk based milkshake to your order. Jerrell’s offers a few different shakes, including strawberry and our personal favorite, Oreo.
The goal of Obee is to make Jerrell’s a culinary landmark, we’d say here’s on the right path.
