Vegan and travel can go together. Sometimes, it may simply take a little more of an effort. Especially when you’re just entering the world of vegan life, things that don’t even cross your mind, like down bedding, animal ingredients in the toiletries, options at the breakfast bar, suddenly matter.
Which is why when you find a truly vegan gem, it’s special. Then, you can relax and know as long as you’re tucked into the property, there’s nothing you need to stress about. Forget worrying if the croissant has butter, or if there’s some ridiculous ingredient you can’t pronounce in the lotion.
Nope.
You’re staying at a vegan bed and breakfast, which means you’re little soul is taken care of and there’s no risk of anything non-vegan coming near you.

How I select inns and bed and breakfast properties for this list
I look beyond “vegan options available” and focus on whether a stay actually works for a vegan traveler. That includes the obvious things like food, but also the details that make a property aligned.
- Food: If breakfast is included, can you eat like a normal human, or is it an apple and plain oatmeal.
- Bedding: If a property claims to be vegan, the bedding should be, too.
- Toiletries: Cruelty-free and vegan bath products.
- Values: Sustainability practices, sourcing, and whether the experience aligns with ethical travel.
If something is unclear, I recommend verifying directly with the property because policies and menus can change.
Vegan hotels and B&Bs USA FAQ
Are there many fully vegan hotels in the United States?
Not compared to Europe, but there are enough to plan a full trip around, especially if you mix fully vegan B&Bs with vegan-forward boutique stays. Also, check out the world’s best vegan hotels.
Why are some places not included even if they show up in older vegan hotel lists?
Because some well-known vegan B&Bs have closed over the years. For example, The Ginger Cat B&B has been reported as permanently closed in more recent listings, and I am not including it as an active recommendation in 2026.
Should I still confirm details before I book?
Yes. Even the best lists can age quickly. Always confirm bedding (no down), toiletries, and meal offerings directly with the property before you finalize your booking.
