5 vegan roasts for the holidays

Diana Edelman
Updated

Vegan roasts have come a long way over the years. Now, we’ve got a ton of vegan roast options to choose from. But, which vegan roast to buy? We’ve narrowed down the ever-growing list and picked five vegan roasts for the holidays we love.

From vegan ham to stuffed turkey, we’ve got you covered with these vegan roasts. They range from your basic stuffed roast to savory roast encrusted in puff pastry. If you’re in Las Vegas, you can find most of these at Veg-In-Out Market. It’s the city’s vegan grocery store. You can also find most vegan roasts at chain groceries. The Trader Joe’s roast is exclusive to that grocery.

Remember: You’ll need to thaw your roast for 24 hours before you start preparation for your vegan holiday meal.

We tried this one for Thanksgiving 2020 and loved it. The Field Roast Hazelnut and Cranberry Plant-Based Roast comes wrapped in a flaky pastry crust. The roast is stuffed with hazelnuts, sweet candied ginger, sausage and rosemary. Pro tip: cook it and then devour it the next day when the flavor from the stuffing has soaked into the roast. It’s super simple to make. Just wrap it loosely in aluminum foil and bake it in the oven.

2. Tofurky Plant-Based Ham Style Roast with Amber Glaze
