Four Seasons is synonymous with luxury travel. With world-class spas, Michelin-starred restaurants and lavish properties, it’s easy to see why.
But, are Four Seasons vegan-friendly?
Short answer: at the five-star hotel price point, they can absolutely accommodate and many have full vegan menus at the on-site restaurants.
But, some of the 130 global properties go above and beyond when it comes to being vegan, thanks in part to the brand’s collaboration with plant-based chefs around the world.
This guide shares the Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts leading the way when it comes to luxury vegan travel.

United States & Mexico
Four Seasons Punta Mita, Mexico

I’ve long known about Four Seasons Punta Mita, thanks to my friend Leslie Durso. She’s the vegan chef behind the standout property’s offerings. Tasked with making sure every restaurant there had vegan options, she build out more than 200 dishes across the resort’s dining venues. Think shiitake and tofu gyoza, roasted watermelon vegan sushi rolls, and mushroom empanadas to devour while on your vegan Mexico vacation.
Four Seasons Resort Hualalai, Hawaii (Big Island)

Hualalai stands out in the Four Seasons Hawaii collection for its massive offerings. Spread across the property are five dining venues — Beach Tree, Miller & Lux, Ulu, the Residents’ Beach House, and poolside dining — all of which have vegan options. Miller & Lux has a full vegan menu which includes beet tartar, Ali’i mushroom polenta, and even a vegan caesar salad.

Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort, Hawaii

Sensei Lanai is a wellness-focused property, and the approach to food here is more intentional than other resorts. First, there is Sensei by Nobu with its five-course vegan omakase. In addition, there is Malibu Farm Restaurant which serves fresh, organic, locally-sourced eats with strong plant-based options … all for you to enjoy poolside (bliss).
Asia
Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, Indonesia

Sayan leans into wellness more than any other Four Seasons property. The culinary program here is built around Sattvic principles — food that’s clean, plant-forward, and local. The signature restaurant, Ayung Terrace, has vegan options, and the menu includes standouts like asinan kelapa muda (a tangy and refreshing Indonesian salad with young coconut) and rendang nangka (tender jackfruit in a thick cocnut stew).
The Fit Bar at the property’s fitness hub serves locally made plant-based protein bars using Balinese fruit and nuts, kombucha brewed from rainwater, and prebiotic drinks. There’s also a plant-based cooking class at the Sokasi Cooking School focused on Ubud, Bali’s local ingredients.

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, Indonesia

Jimbaran Bay operates under Balance by Four Seasons, which partners Four Seasons culinary experts with leading nutritionists to create balanced dishes that are unique to the brand. It focuses on seasonal plant-forward recipes from local suppliers “designed to support a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle.” Every restaurant offers vegan options and all are clearly marked.

Europe
Four Seasons Istanbul at the Bosphorus, Turkey

While Istanbul’s food scene skews towards meat and seafood, it is definitely possible to be vegan in Istanbul. Especially when you’re staying at the Four Seasons. The Yali Lounge offers a dedicated vegan and vegetarian menu, making it easier to find options.
Africa
Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, Tanzania

Of course Four Seasons nails it at the Seregeti safari lodge. It’s Boma Grill offers the open-air African dining experience, braai, featuring plant-based options like organic tandoori carrots and roasted cashew nut sorbets. In addition, the culinary team is trained to adapt multi-course meals and bush dinners for plant-based diets.

How to get the most out of any Four Seasons property
Even at properties not listed here, Four Seasons has a strong track record of accommodating vegan diets when guests communicate ahead of time.
A few things that help:
- Contact the property directly before arrival. Do not message through the general booking platform. Ask to speak with the dining team or chef’s concierge. Four Seasons properties at the higher end often have a chef who will build a custom menu for the length of your stay.
- Mention it at check-in and at every restaurant. Kitchens shift between meal services and a note in your reservation doesn’t always travel with you.
- Ask what’s market-fresh. The best vegan meals at luxury hotels often aren’t on the menu, they’re what the kitchen can build from what’s available that day.
- Work with a travel advisor who will take care of everything in advance, guaranteeing you have options, and even welcome gifts like wine and sweets are vegan.
The bottom line
You can travel vegan and enjoy luxury hotels, and Four Seasons is one of the safest bets in the world. It’s important to remember the brand doesn’t have a universal standard for plant-based dining, some properties are exceptional and others require more advance communication. However, the culture of customization and service that runs across Four Seasons you’re rarely left with nothing to eat.
If you want help choosing the right Four Seasons for your trip, or want someone to handle all the pre-arrival communication so your vegan needs are sorted before you land, I’m here to help make your life easier and make sure you can travel vegan, confidently.
