For many vegans, ice cream can be a difficult thing to give up. But at Sweet Addiction – a vegan-friendly ice cream shop in Las Vegas – you can get the cool, creamy sensations you’re longing for!
This Instagram-worthy ice cream shop was taken over in 2016 by Abraham Colins and his family. And, in summer 2020 vegan options were added thanks to the influence of some vegan friends.
Las Vegas Vegan-Friendly Ice Cream Shop: Sweet Addiction
“If one friend is vegan, it changes the plans for everything,” says Colins, adding their new vegan options makes Sweet Temptation a more inclusive place for families and friends.
They offer vegan cookies (made fresh, in-house), milkshakes, sundaes and more.
Vegan Ice Cream Options at Sweet Addiction
For now, there are three vegan ice cream flavors: chocolate, cookies and cream and coconut storm.
First, there’s the rich and decadent chocolate starts with an almond and cashew base and ends up as dark chocolate heaven.
That same base is used in the creamy cookies and cream flavor made with real Oreos.
Finally, if you’re nut-free, Coconut Storm is your jam. It’s a coconut base with Oreos and fresh strawberries, adding a fruity surprise in every bite.
Vegan Sundae Options at Sweet Addiction
For a little somethin’ extra, try their vegan sundae.
It’s got two scoops of ice cream, to start. Then, coconut whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and a choice of two toppings are added. Next, it’s topped off with a fresh cookie. It’s indulgent to say the least, and Worth. Every. Calorie.
If that’s not enough, or you’d like to share, try the banana split with three scoops, a banana topped with coco whipped cream, walnuts, sprinkles and chocolate syrup.
Vegan Ice Cream Sandwiches at Sweet Addiction
One of the most popular treats are the massive ice cream cookie sandwiches.
Choose your cookie: chocolate chip, chocolate chip with walnuts or big Oreo wafers and your fave ice cream flavor. Yummy, messy and totally Instagrammable!
Vegan Milkshakes at Sweet Addiction
Or, take your sugar rush to-go with a thick and velvety milkshake. You can customize it with your choice of ice cream and coconut or almond milk. We got ours topped with coco whip and Oreo crumbles.
Even better than all this sweet goodness?
Colins says he is working on new cookie and ice ream flavors and sourcing vegan cones.
“If it doesn’t taste as good as the original version, I’ll keep looking,” he says. As an omnivore who’s open to vegan cuisine, he’s also open to feedback. Especially when it comes to the business’s new vegan venture. “It’s all about taking care of our customers.”
Now that’s something we can bite into.
