We love pizza. Like, love. And Slice of Vegas delivers. While daiya cheese may not be every vegan’s answer to mozzarella, this pizza joint at The Shoppes at Mandalay Bay makes some killer pies. It’s vegan pizza heaven.
Like Hussong’s Cantina a stone’s throw away, this sister spot offers a major plant-based menu loaded with Italian (and American) favorites. Craving some vegan garlic bread? Slice of Vegas. Chicken wings with hot buffalo sauce to dunk them in? Slice of Vegas. Pizza bigger than your face with heaps of different flavor combinations and a choice of sauces? You get it. Plus, they’ve also got salads, sandwiches, pasta and build-your-own pizza options.
Staff here know their vegan items, and the company’s owners are vegan, which makes it super vegan-friendly thanks to many of the staple ingredients in the restaurant being vegan already and it’s “vegan only” cooking areas to avoid cross-contamination. If there’s something you want that can be tweaked to vegan, it’s yours.
And, let’s not forget the desserts. There’s the massive chocolate cake topped with creamy peanut butter icing, and the Zeppoli, which is fried pizza dough (are you salivating yet?) tossed in cinnamon and sugar and served with chocolate dipping sauce.
