The Feast Buffet at Palace Station was due for a refresh, so coming on the heels of its 30th anniversary, the venue received a full Vegas makeover. New location, new sleek modern look, with … new vegan-friendly options? Wait? Vegan options at a Las Vegas buffet?
We know what you are thinking, “okay, so they added more of a salad bar.”
Be ready to be pleasantly surprised once again by Station Casinos as they move to become more vegan-friendly.
How do you know you made the right decision choosing the Palace Station Buffet to enjoy their vegan buffet options? The hummus bar is the very first section you see as you walk through the entrance, almost to say “Vegans Welcome” (cue the choir of angels).
Make a quick stop at the soup station which now includes a vegan soup option. We had a cup of the hearty kale, white bean and potato soup, but rumor has it, there’s a quinoa veggie soup on the rotation, too.
For now, stay to the left of the buffet where you’ll find the “Wok This Way” and “Healthy Favorite” stations — also known as hot spots for your vegan buffet options.
Here, dishes exist such as vegan mushroom stroganoff with gluten-free pasta, vegan enchiladas, vegan sesame cauliflower and vegan potato pancakes (!!!!), among other options.
Looking for something made to order? The “power bowl” live station is a nice addition to the line. Choose from a base of gluten-free pasta, quinoa or brown rice. Add in your beans and greens and then top all that goodness off with a sauce.
Chef Patrick, who was kind enough to walk us through the buffet, mentioned that although there are no vegan desserts being served, he is working on a couple sweet treats. He’s also tweaking a few veggie dishes by replacing the chicken stock with vegetable stock (thank you!) so for now, double-triple-check stock to be certain it’s vegan.
We are ecstatic that the Feast Buffet is recognizing the demand for not only vegan, but gluten-free vegan cuisine. Be aware, when we swung by the vegan selections weren’t necessarily labeled as such. No need to panic, we were promised that proper signage was on the way. In the meantime, don’t be afraid to ask for clarification if you’re in doubt.
