We’ve heard the excuse before, “being vegan is too expensive.” But, if you know where to shop it most definitely is not.
After more than a year running ShopVeganLV, an Instagram account curated by Vegans, Baby highlighting new and cool vegan products in Vegas and online, we’ve discovered some of the best vegan grocery hauls aren’t at Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. You can find some fantastic vegan groceries at the 99 Cents Only stores throughout Las Vegas. In fact, a good chunk of the submissions we get from followers happen to be from this discount grocery store.
What kind of vegan products can you find at the 99 Cents Only Store? So. Many.
Dairy alternatives like vegan yogurt, butter, and cheeses have started to fill up the refrigerated section, much to our delight. Our And, ShopVeganLV’s most popular submissions are plant-based milks and creamers. Soy, almond, cashew, pea, as well as walnut-based milks have been found in the store. Silk, Ripple, Elmhust, Califia, and So Delicious are just a few brands that we’ve come across.
In fact, we’ve had reports that Silk’s Almondmilk yogurt, as well as Califia’s dairy-free yogurt are often in stock. But, that’s not all.
Earth Balance organic butter is also a regular.
Plus, we’ve see Go Veggie vegan cheese selections like the vegan parmesan and vegan cheddar (please note that most Go Veggie products are not vegan) have frequented the shelves in the past few months.
It’s no secret that vegan meat substitutes can add dollar signs to your bill. While excluding mock meats from your grocery list can lower your overall cost, being on a budget shouldn’t have to mean giving up a good burger. At the 99 Cent Only Store, you can find gems like Gardein and Boca.
Items such as veggie burgers, chick’n strips, falafel bites, and even vegan pockets have been spotted by ShopVeganLV followers.

Kathryn Hartwig is a senior writer for Vegans, Baby. She decided to go vegan almost eight years ago while searching for the perfect diet to compliment her role as a professional dancer. After experimenting with multitudes of fads, she finally found a lifestyle that turned out to be so much more than just a diet. She settled in Vegas with her husband/photographer Daniel, and puppy, Layla, after traveling the world on cruise ships and living in New York City. The family recently welcomed the birth of their first child, a true vegan baby.
