The popular PLANTA brand has arrived to New York City. Opened late spring 2021, PLANTA Queen is the first of the concepts to hit New York.
PLANTA and its concepts — PLANTA, PLANTA Burger, PLANTA Cocina and PLANTA Queen are located in Miami, Toronto, West Palm Beach, Bethesda, Md. (coming soon) and NYC.

Founded by Steven Salm and Executive Chef David Lee, the restaurants celebrate plants and focus on ethical suppliers, high-quality ingredients and are entirely plant-based.
Set in a stunning venue with breathtaking bar and enormous dining room, PLANTA Queen is a must for vegan dining in New York City.
The all-vegan menu at PLANTA Queen is quite large so it’s not the easiest task to pick what to order.
So, we took one for the team and tried out a bunch of dishes and picked five you should order at PLANTA Queen.
5 dishes to try at PLANTA Queen
1. Ahi Watermelon Nigiri
Perhaps the most photographed dish on the menu is the ahi watermelon nigiri.
Standing in for the traditional tuna is the watermelon. It looks like the real thing and the texture is eerily similar to that of its non-vegan counterpart. Thinly sliced slabs of dehydrated watermelon adorn sushi rice you dip into a citrus soy sauce.
2. Bang Bang Broccoli
For a little kick, order the Bang Bang Broccoli. Crispy, fried broccoli is tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce (so there’s a lil’ kick) with creamy peanut sauce for dipping.
3. Udon Noodles
We’re suckers for truffle anything, so obviously we dig this dish since it’s truffle on truffle. Thick udon noodles are bathed in a truffle cream sauce and then topped with thinly sliced black truffle.
4. Avocado Lime Tartare
A twist on plant-based tartares, PLANTA Queen’s avocado lime tartare taps into beetroot to re-create tuna layered under creamy avocado with pine nuts, capers, sesame, cilantro and a citrus soy. It comes with taro chips to scoop up the delicacy.
5. Spicy Tuna Roll
If you want to try the ahi watermelon in a sushi roll, order the spicy tuna roll. It features the watermelon, along with avocado and toasted coconut.
Bonus: Matcha Cheesecake
Should the matcha cheesecake be on the menu when you go, order it. You’re welcome.
