13 Vegan and Sustainable Activewear Brands You’ll Love

Grab your vegan and sustainable workout ‘fits and hit the gym … or wherever

As conscious consumerism (my new favorite term) continues to grow, so does the demand for clothing that aligns with ethical and sustainable values. Especially in the fitness world.

a hand holds a brown clothing tag strung to a piece of clothing in the background. The tag has three areas in the classic recycling configuration, in green.

In fact, the US ethical fashion market is expected to go from $8.58 billion this year to an estimated $11.78 billion by 2030. Another report suggests that by 2029, the market could hit $13.32 billion. Sustainable activewear leads the way as a fast-growing segment thanks to increased awareness about animal welfare, climate change, and human rights in fashion supply chains. And, while we’re here, I would like to remind y’all to skip Shein, Temu and others like it that push out thousands of pieces a month and contribute to the massive overabundance of clothing waste.

For my plant-based and vegan folks, I know it’s important where you put your money and that your workout gear goes beyond function and fashion. It’s about giving our dollars to companies that are aligned so whether you’re doing yoga at home, lifting at the gym, or heading out for brunch in comfy athleisure.

TL;DR: this roundup of vegan and sustainable activewear brands makes it easier to look good, feel good, and do good. As the kids say,

13 of the best vegan-friendly and eco-conscious activewear labels to know right now

1. VuoriWoman wearing a white T-shirt and maroon zip-up jacket with matching sweatpants, standing in front of a bridge in NYC.

Based in Cali, Vuori is committed to sustainable practices, including using recycled materials in 50 percent of its products and offsetting 100 percent of its carbon footprint. Their clothes are ultra-soft, moisture-wicking, and versatile. They’re ideal for workouts or a casual coffee run.

They also happen to be one of my favorite brands.
