It’s been a long time since The Pasta Shop Ristorante & Art Gallery started offering vegan options at the cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant. But, it’s been a little bit of a secret (i.e. you ask, they tell). However, this all changes on July 1 when this popular family-owned spot officially joins the growing vegan dining scene with a vegan menu made entirely of whole plant foods and dishes that are made in-house from scratch (from pasta to sauce).
To kick off the new menu, we’re celebrating and taking the monthly Vegans, Baby meet up to The Pasta Shop on Monday, June 26. From 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. anyone can come in, order off the new vegan menu (before the general public can!) and hang with the Vegans, Baby crowd. This is not a ticketed event, but if you prefer to eat at a certain time, make a reservation for your party for either the community table or a private table.
Our favorites from the new menu include:
Brussels Sprouts – roasted sprouts in a sesame balsamic glaze
Live Forever Salad – Alenik Style – mixed wild greens, brown rice, roma tomatoes, red onion, EVOO, balsamic, roasted cashews and topped with sauteed brussels sprouts, avocado, beets and kale
Diablo Alenik Style – Homemade spinach papperdalle pasta in diablo sauce with sauteed broccoli and kale, topped with fresh basil
Marsala – Mushrooms and onions served over homemade linguini in a thin Marsala wine sauce
But, the menu is so much more than that! Be sure to come to the preview party on June 26 to check out all the vegan eats for yourself! If you can’t decide on what you want to order, the event also features a Vegan Sampler for $25 that includes small portions of two appetizers and two entrees, plus lemon sorbet for dessert!
The meet up/preview party benefits Trent Alenik’s (his family owns The Pasta Shop) non-profit, the Inspiring Children Foundation, which takes at-risk youth off the streets and into greatness by giving them the ultimate environment to become “professionals at life.”
