Savage Sicko is a vegan restaurant in Astoria, Queens. The restaurant, which features a Latin menu, is also a part of the Savage Sicko brand which features organic, cold-pressed juices designed for athletes, a clothing line and more. The goal? To inspire more people to adopt a vegan lifestyle and save the Earth.
The fun New York vegan restaurant features a small front patio, eclectic dining room and spacious and bright back patio adorned with flower and plant walls. Head there Sundays from noon – 4 p.m. for their Glam Drag Brunch that’s as much of a party as it is a feast.
With a large menu, narrowing down what to eat can be a lot. Which is why we’re here to help.
5 dishes to try at Savage Sicko
1. Save Shark Nachos
These bright nachos are a table pleaser. Tortilla chips come topped with tofu scramble, black beans, pico de gallo, guac and radishes. Then, they’re finished off with a vegan cheese bechamel.
2. Tostones Rellenos
Another excellent share for the table are Savage Sicko’s tostones rellenos. The dish features crispy green plantains topped with guac, pico, pickled onions and vegan mozzarella. Bonus: it’s gluten-free.
3. Empanadas
Savage Sicko offers three empanadas. We dig the one filled with spinach, onion and mozzarella.
4. The Great Savage Burger
Next up, the main course. Sink your teeth into the Great Savage Burger. This juicy vegan burger is made with Beyond and comes with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and cheese. Then, it’s smothered with a chipotle aioli. Choose from sweet potato or regular fries to round it out.
5. Mac y Queso
Finally, if a restaurant offers a vegan mac and cheese, you know we’re on it. The mac y queso at Savage Sicko is a good one. It’s elbow pasta in a creamy vegan cheese bechamel with herb panko sprinkled on top.
Bonus!
The menu also offers mocktails and juices. If you’re feeling like booze, you can bring it in, too.
